STEM + Families

Family Resources to Share with Your School Community

Empower your school community to be educated in the sciences and STEM Fields.

Studies show...
  • STEM careers in the U.S. are growing twice as fast as other fields and there’s a demand for qualified STEM professionals. There is a vast array of careers in STEM, and about half of only require a two-year degree.

  • Although women make up half the population, they comprise less than 30% of the STEM workforce. Similarly, underrepresented racial and ethnic groups make up 27% of the population but comprise only 11% of the STEM workforce. This is often because of limited access to STEM education, geographic disparities and the lack of access to basic broadband services.

  • 95% of teachers believe hands-on activities are the most effective way for students to learn science, and 79% of parents say the same.

  • 32% of teachers say parent support or involvement at home would be the most helpful in increasing hands-on science learning experiences.
