Dana Platin has volunteered in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøfor close to 30 years and currently serves as a member of the National ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøBoard of Directors, the Field Service Committee and the Executive Director Review Committee. Platin has served in many levels of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand is the immediate past president for New York State ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø(2020-2022).
She has been honored with National ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøHonorary Life Membership, New York State (NYS) ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøHonorary Life Membership and other awards through NYS ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøas well as regional and local recognitions. She is most proud of her advocacy to ensure that all students, regardless of cognitive ability, receive a New York State high school diploma, and is beyond thrilled that her youngest son, who is autistic, was one of the first high school graduates with special needs to receive one.
Platin is an active member of her community and school district, where she chairs the Board of Education legislative committee. After retiring in June 2023, Platin now spends her time with her husband, daughter, two sons and daughter-in law, but most importantly, with her precious, almost one-year-old grandson.
Platin is a tireless, passionate advocate for all children and youth, and she believes that there is no greater or more important work than what we do to support the mission and values of PTA.
