Anna King was the 57th the president of National PTA, bringing over 18 years of leadership experience at all levels of PTA—local, council, state and national. Her journey includes serving as president of Oklahoma PTA, vice president of membership for National ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand National ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøpresident-elect.
Throughout her career, Anna has consistently demonstrated her ability to lead diverse teams, engage communities and advocate effectively for children, families, educators and school communities.
A passionate advocate for education, Anna has served on various advisory boards, including her current role on the National Assessment Governing Board, appointed by U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona. Her commitment to educational equity is reflected in her work with the Oklahoma State Department of Education's Equity Advisory Task Force and her involvement with WestEd and Oklahoma State NAACP.
Anna’s leadership style is rooted in servant leadership, believing that true leaders inspire others by offering the best of themselves through humility and courage. Her ability to foster inclusive environments, build strong relationships and drive meaningful change has been recognized with numerous honors, including being named a Wall of Fame Honoree by the Oklahoma City Public School Foundation.
In addition to her advocacy work, Anna values hands-on engagement with students, particularly in middle and high school, helping them use their voices to create positive change. She is a board member of the Frederick Douglass Law and Public Safety Academy and an active member of Oklahoma Moms Demand Action.
Anna and her husband, Glenn, have been married for 37 years and run a family-owned mobile catering business. They are proud parents of three children—Annalishia, Anthony and Glenn II—and grandparents to 12 grandchildren. Anna’s love for music, art and her favorite color, orange, reflects her vibrant and creative spirit.
